Cider Buttered Greens

4 Large handfuls of spring greens, kale or chard
50ml cider
1tbsp butter
1 pinch mixed spice
Salt and Pepper

Bring a large pot of water to the boil.   Add a good pinch of salt.
Strip out any woody stems.   Roughly chop your greens and plunge into the boiling water.   Swirl through, and drain as soon as the greens are just soft but still a bright, glossy green.
Put the pan back on the heat, add the cider, let it boil and reduce a little.   Turn off the heat, whisk in the butter with a pinch of mixed spice.   Fold the greens through and season to taste.

And as antidote to the cider ...

Eight Carrot Gold

1 Mango
8 Carrots
Thumb size piece of Tumeric

Peel and chop your mango into chunks.   Discard the stone.   Feed all the ingrediants through a juicer.   Be careful as fresh turmeric can stain - lemon juice is brilliant at gettering rid of any stains.

Tumeric:-  One of the health benefits of turmeric is that it is believed to be a natural liver detoxifier. One study  found that it may protect against alcohol-induced liver damage as well as damage caused by a high fat diet.
